Midday Moon

(this was my first Opuss, posted around 8 months ago)

Midday moon,
A stranger in your own home.
The uninvited guest.
Mammothly insignificant,
Yet strangely unavoidable.
Midday moon.

Midday moon,
Why are you not sleeping,
Waiting for night to come?
Why are you not dozing lazily,
In the vast emptiness of space?
Bobbing awkwardly in the cloud-filled sky.
Midday moon.

Midday moon,
Why do you don your silver gown,
Before your late night dance?
Why are you peeking through the clouds,
Spying on the Sun?
Faded and pale in the harsh light of day.
Midday moon.

Midday moon,
Why do you shimmer in the bright blue sky?
The unwanted intruder.
Why do you float upon a sea that is not yours to float on?
Why do you bother?
Unpopular, unwelcome, unloved.
Midday moon.

The Moon Is Day

As I look to the clear sky. A blue sweetness envelopes my eyes. The sky serenely looks down. To my shining face of glory. And there to the right of the horizon. I see the moon by sweet daylight.

Moon

I am the place far away and close,. I am the source of light that emits no glow,. I am the place where wolves sing,. I am old, new, the strangest thing,. I am the place where many fear to go,.

Fate- Harmless Or Treason

Is it fate that draws us near. Or is that common fear. Of everything becoming clear. Or is it just having someone to hear. The stars aligned. And the letter D was signed. A meeting of two minds.

Embers

I'm merely fallen ash. Fallen heavy but light. A dust so fine. A pitiful sight. A grey so dull. Lifeless and fragile. Upon the breeze. I'm carried for miles. Thrown to the side. Like I have no worth.

@leelee101 @ckahn thank you! 😊

@ckahn I just feel, well, sympathetic I guess. That's how the poem was meant to sound. Feeling sorry for the moon, questioning it, why doesn't it just come out at night, when it's the main attraction, and not in the suns way? I was just looking at the moon one day, and it seemed so faded, and awkward compared to the bright light of the sun. It was just washed out by the bright blue sky and the sun.

Ahhh, yes. I can see the sentiment now. It's a lovely poem!😘

@ckahn why thank you.

It's lovely and has a great sensitivity to it! ☺
