When the light does go away,
And dark surrounds me every way,
I curl up in my little bed,
I lie down, I rest my head.
I think of all that day did hold,
As the covers keep out the cold.
The darkness encloses all around,
Only my thoughts make any sound.
I find comfort in the dimming light,
I see no horrific sight,
Just the dark, it is my friend,
And I know it won't be my end.
Daydreams take over my mind,
To help me to relax and unwind.
They help me find my way to sleep,
And once I'm there, there's not a peep.
When I wake, and open my eyes,
They feel blinded, it's quite a surprise!
They dark is gone, the light is back,
And the world seems to be back out of whack.
