I only left the room for two minutes..
Two minutes, and nothing more.
Yet while I was gone, taller shadows crept in
and threw themselves across the floor.
The mood is now sombre, almost like Salvation in reverse.
So I sit back down, desperately trying to finish
That difficult second verse
Ah, but the moment has long, long gone;
It made the most of an open door.
The atmosphere is thinner, almost further away
No electricity, not like before.
I try to reign in my thoughts again,
But I'm merely leading a hearse
I guess it just goes to show you can't force these things
Not when writing that difficult second verse.
