Hand me my pencil, let me write
Forget the pad and phone
Scribble down some words tonight
And make them all your own
Write a poem to a lover
A story or an ode
As long as someone or another
Can reap the seed you sowed
How about some epic tales
Penned by your own hand
A decent story never fails
To help us understand
A quote or joke or limerick
To help kick start the day
A song lyric is just the trick
To beat the blues away
So here's a pencil, go and write
Get everything that's inside, out
Let all those ideas just take flight
Ignore all those who doubt
For that's what we are all here for
To read and write and share
Once you start great words will pour
Let's put them all out there...
