It's less than a month 'till Christmas,
I can almost hear the sleigh bells ringing,
Been to the shops to buy my advent calendar,
Chocolates hidden behind doors-so tempting!
The temperature outside is steadily falling,
Clouds growing snowier by the day,
Soon, snow will be in the forecast,
And children will be looking out for Santa's sleigh.
Twinkling lights are coming to life,
All over the sparkling town,
Excitement is building amongst the little ones,
As December is nearly around.
Mothers are hurrying to the shops,
Clutching lists entitled-"What I want for Christmas"
Determined to buy every single item,
Fluffy socks and pyjamas are a must!
The scent of mulled wine and mince pies,
Will soon dance around in the chilly air,
As little children recite their Christmas lists to Mr. Claus
As he relaxes in his frosted rocking chair.
December is just around the corner,
Oh! The joy and happiness it will bring,
That wonderful time of year,
When everyone smiles, gives and sings!
