Gay marriage seems to be the topic these days,
Stamping their feet all day long are those gays.

Homophobic I seem as I appose the rule,
I'm not doing it to seem stubborn or cruel.

I merely have a high respect for tradition,
Although this puts me in the minority opinion.

Civil partnership is just as good and a right we fought for,
But there's clusters of homos who always want more.

Give it a rest, leave the churches alone,
Accept what your given,
Get wed and go home.

A wife and a wife, we've already got this achievement,
Living a life without ridicule is more than important.

You have recognition and the rights that come with,
So to sum myself up; live and let live!

One of my closest friends is in a civil partnership, with four children of her own from a previous marriage. She has exactly the same outlook. Refreshing in many ways. 😌

It's liberating to be able to say openly "I'm gay and I appose gay marriage".

I wouldn't say I oppose gay marriage but I'd rather have a civil partnership with my fella, marriage is a religious thing and I don't like religion. But I do think the situation in USA for example is wrong where even a partnership is not allowed in some states

There are two aspects to marriage; the legal and the religious. It should be world wide for civil partnerships, undoubtably. But the religious should be out of bounds. If you are highly religious and attend church, approach your vicar, priest, clergyman etc and ask for a blessing after a civil partnership. If you're not it's rude and disrespectful to ask millions of people to ignore their beliefs for a minority of people purely because of modernity.
