My Sister

I know that we have been through some hard times,
you have always been there at the end of the phone,
I know you are there, and I can talk to you,
Then I know I can cope, and know I’m not alone.

I have got here, at long last after 7 years,
I had the help and support that I waited so long for,
I feel safe and secure with the knowledge,
I survived and am stronger, I now know the score.

So I now have to have some time for me,
and I, can allow myself space, to find out who is in my interior,
I have to learn to love myself,
And let people in past my saddened exterior.

To my sister, I know I can always turn to you,
Your support has helped me on my way,
I would do the same for you, whenever you needed me,
As there are no other words that I can say,

Just Thank You for being my sis.
