Be Grateful

I love my bed,
And I'm grateful for it.
Not everyone gets a bed.
Think of that next time you sleep.

There are some people
Left out in the cold.
Only their feet to carry them home
To their cardboard houses.

Don't turn a blind eye
'Penny for the beggar?'
You've got a bed
They've got a box

Don't walk past that hat
Lain hopefully on the floor.
Fall for the poor dog
They can't feed it. Will you help?

Flute in hand
Tries hard to please the public.
That's not easy to do
If you've never touched a flute before.

Stop and think
Next time you see a street man.
He's got a box
You've got a bed.
