Chapter 16: Jane
Oracle
I climbed onto the bed. Tears sprang to my eyes, I wanted Lucas so badly now. I didn’t care how bad the cravings got I needed him.
Lucas! I screamed in my head.
Jane I can hear you. Thank god. He replied
Where are you? I asked
I don’t know. I just keep falling and falling. Jane… I have something to show you but you must not hurt yourself over the second part.
Of course. Show me. I was confused what was he going to show me and how was he going to do it? I took a sharp breath and suddenly I wasn’t in the room anymore…
I hugged three young children and kissed them goodnight as they climbed into their beds. They all looked like me and Lucas… The children were mine, mine and Lucas’s. They all had beautiful white angel wings, their hair was red and they all had glowing green eyes. My children were beautiful. Our children were beautiful. Lucas stood outside the door. I smiled and kissed him.
That’s when I caught sight of a ring upon my finger. A beautiful, sparkling diamond ring. I stared at it for a few moments before Lucas took my hand and pulled me down the corridor and into bed. I wanted this. This was my future, it had to be.
Suddenly I was pulled away from my perfect life and I saw my future life with Lucifer. An awful life. I stood with Lucifer and two children. They had dark black eyes and awful featherless wings. Their hair was as black as night. But I knew who they were, they were my children.
He stood before us. Lucas. Suddenly Lucifer grabbed me by the hair and threw me to the floor. The children looked at their father with fear. Then, I realised my crime. I had found Lucas, found a way to be with him. That didn’t sit too well with Lucifer.
I heard Lucas call the children to come; they came. Lucas stood with me and the children; I took his hand and promised I’d be ok. ‘I beg you. Take care of them Lucas’ I cried, he nodded and kissed me, but we were cut off as Lucifer dragged me away and threw me into a pit of fire.
I saw flames consume me and I screamed. Lucas covered the children’s ears.
“I believe they are my children” Lucifer said, angrily.
“Not anymore” Lucas said as he picked them up and ran. Tears fell down my face and I smiled. Lucas had done what I asked,
I stood in shock as I left the vision.
Lucas. I know it hasn’t happened yet but thank you. You saved my children and they weren’t even yours.
Don’t thank me. It was the only thing you asked.
I wanted the first life so badly. I wanted you. I cried
Someday Jane that will be us and our children will have wings and red hair like that.
I hope so Lucas.
Jane it will happen. I promise. I can’t let you have the devils children. I ignored him.

A light. I think it was an oracle. He answered.

Lucas? Where are you? Are you ok? No reply I gave it five minutes and then decided to go to Lucifer.
“Emmm… Lucifer?” he turned. I felt like I needed to approach this calmly even though I was in a rush.
“Yes princess?”
“I want to see Lucas again.” I announced
“Can’t stand not communicating though thoughts anymore?” he said smiling
“What do you mean? I was talking-” I stopped as I realised what he said
“What? That’s not possible I cut it off.”
“I didn’t mean that.” I said instantly
“I know exactly what you mean” he slowly walked towards me but I kept taking a step back until I hit a wall. Oh great!!!!! Now what? He grabbed my chin in one hand and turned my face from side to side. “What did he show you?” he asked angrily. How could he know that?
“He didn’t show me anything, I promise”
“Cute. You would risk your life and lie to protect your boyfriend. Stupid, foolish girl” he slapped me. I grabbed my face as it throbbed and glowed red. “Stupid girl” he grabbed my arm this time and lifted me off the floor. “Haha and you wanted your perfect life with Lucas. Hope gets you nothing and trust gets you even less”
Oh no, this was what I had been dreading he let my feet touch the ground and he twisted my arm breaking it into two. I screamed. Then he grabbed my other arm and broke it.
“Not even going to say sorry?” he hissed
“No.” his face turned from anger to rage. He punched me in the ribs and I could hear the cracks. Then he let go of me and I crawled across the room away from him. He only had to walk over to me and hit me and my shoulder was dislocated. I screamed in agony.
“Tell Lucas” he said “I’m letting you talk to him right now, talk to him”
“No and I can’t I don’t know if he’s alive” The devil smiled and disappeared. Brilliant!! I couldn’t move and I was dying but somehow Lucifer forgot to heal me. I crawled on one hand to the bed in my room and lay down. I was going to die…
