Chapter 25
I didn’t speak for the ride home; I just sat in the back of a car with Sam. He didn’t try and speak to me, he only stared at me. With Damien’s driving it only took us three hours. He carried me inside and lay me on my bed upstairs before sitting on the side of my bed.
“Damien?” I whispered.
“Yes” He replied in a soft, sympathetic voice.
“Hold me, please” He put me into his arms. “Sorry”
“Don’t you dare apologize. You haven’t done anything wrong. I have, I’m sorry”
“Damien? I-I- what did you do while was gone?” I was referring to the drinking.
“For the first week I looked for you everywhere, and then Sam stopped me. He told me he would look for you if I stopped nearly killing myself trying to find you. I started drinking…” Damien said sounding ashamed.
“I know. Sam told me” His face went totally white and he started to throw questions at me.
“What else did he tell you?” Oh god! What did he do?
“That you tried to kill Jessica” He went paler.
“Did he tell you what I did?”
“No. Damien what did you do?” No answer “Damien oh my god! What did you do? Damien please tell me” I begged him.
“I had her against the wall with a knife” Wow! He really was drunk. Damien would never have normally done that.
“Gosh”
“I was drunk, didn’t mean to” Hold up. Didn’t mean to?
“You didn’t hurt her right?” I was getting worried.
“No. The blade never even touched her. Sam saved her; he really loves her now. He talks to me now so he’s been telling me a lot. He really wants her, almost as much as I want you” My jaw dropped.
“And I’ve only been gone for two weeks”
“Yeah” I smiled at him. “What did he do to you?”
“He kissed me and he was scaring me. I didn’t want him to kiss me, I tried to get away but he’s strong” I replied. Well goodbye my amazing life with Damien. You’ve officially cheated on him twice.
“It’s alright. Why are you wearing a skirt?” So he kissed me and all he’s worried about is why I’m wearing a skirt?
“I woke up with it on” Damien closed his eyes slowly and opened them a second later.
“He didn’t touch you, did he?” He asked. Well… yeah he did.
“Kinda, but he didn’t do anything to hurt me” Damien kissed my head but when he moved away I went for his lips. I pulled him as close as I could. Oh my gosh. This was so desperate. I pulled away “Sorry that was a little desperate”
“No its ok. I think I needed that. I really needed that. Can you do that again?” I kissed him hard and then heard the door creak open. Sam walked in and we broke off. “I think I can trust you not to touch her, cant I?” Sam nodded “I’ll leave you two for a minute then” Damien walked out of the room and I sat up. Sam sat on the bed.
“Thanks” I said smiling weakly.
“For what?” He asked.
“Saving me”
“You’re welcome” There was a long awkward silence. “Sorry for you know I love you thing”
“It’s alright”
“If it helps, I don’t think I love you as much as I did then” I smiled
“You love Jessica now?” He nodded. “Thanks and you’ve got to be good to her. Understand?”
“Yes. I will” He said with a guilty and childish grin on his face. What?
“A little too much information there” I said closing my eyes to try and get the image out of my head.
“Sorry” He said
“Yeah, tell that to my brain that really didn’t want that image” He laughed. “Where’s Jessica?”
“Asleep. She hasn’t had much of it”
“I should let you sleep too. It’s late”
“Thanks. Do you want me to get Damien?”
“Yes please” Sam walked out and Damien walked in seconds later. I yawned
“Sleepy?” He asked.
“Yeah”
“You’ve slept for like 2 weeks” I laughed
“Does that mean I can’t be sleepy?” I asked in a giggled.
“Nope” He replied.
“Does it mean that you can’t come and hold me?”
“Nope”
“Then come here” He walked over to me and gave me a hug before pulling me down onto the bed. “I have one question”
“Shoot”
“Wasn’t Eric your brother too?” I asked recalling the incident with him.
“Yeah”
“Where was he when your family kidnapped me?”
“He was there”
“Oh I didn’t see him”
“You’re just tired. You don’t remember. Go to sleep, I’m going to hold you all night” He said and I giggled. We both went to sleep…
