The Affair

Chapter 2:

I walked into school with a smile on my face. I didn't have any lessons with Ailis all day and I knew I wouldn't see Tom because he rarely mixes with the year below. "Is this true?" my best friend Emily came up to me holding a newpaper. I gasped and nodded at Emily before reading it:

'Rumours have been confirmed that Olympic Diver Tom Daley (18) has cheated on his two year girlfriend Maddy Hopson (17) with her best friend Ailis Prowse (17). We can also confirm that Ailis is pregnant with Tom's child! Last night we caught them coming out of Maddy's home hand-in-hand looking very upset. Neither of them said anything but just as Tom got in his mum's car, he said: "I'm so sorry for hurting Maddy."'

Under the writing there was a picture of Tom and Ailis coming out of my house last night. Ailis & Tom looked very upset while the parents looked angry, there was also a picture of Tom and I taken on my 17th birthday. Emily & I were on our way to tutor when I suddenly had an idea. I turned to Emily, "Do you want this newspaper?" Emily shook her head so I ran up to the 6th form center and put the newspaper on the table and made my way to tutor where Emily was waiting.

Half way through lunch my phone began to vibrate in my pocket. I sighed as I fished about for my phone, finally dragging it out my pocket. I saw that I had a text message from Tom.

'Why did you do it? I know it was you. Tom '

I sighed, closed the message and put my phone back in my pocket. I looked up and saw Tom with Ailis and load of their friends. I knew he was talking about the newspaper. They were all looking at me so I just turned away and carried on eating. I was glad when school was finally over, I ran out and drove home. Rumours were flying around school and I was getting tierd of them! As I went to sleep that night I realized my life would never be the same again.

Finally it was Friday and after a week of Ailis and Tom trying to appologize to me, I was thankful the weekend was here. Until I got home and saw Tom. I had forgotten that every other Friday night, we all go out for a meal. By 'we' I mean, me, my parents, Tom, his brothers and his mum, thankfully Emily was coming tonight. Ailis normally does came with her parents but after me punching her in the face yesterday her parents thought it was best if they didn't come. Let's get this straight shall we? Everyone is angry at Tom and Ailis, apart from a few people at school who hate me. Just because they are having a baby, Tom and Ailis started to date!

After getting home and having a shouting match with Tom, Emily arrived so we went upstairs to get ready. Once we were ready we walked into the kitchen where everyone was waiting for us.
"Are you girls ready?" Mum asked me. I nodded and glared at Tom. "Right, you two had better behave yourselves tonight." Tom's mum Debbie warned us. I smiled and nodded, but as the adults walked out with Emily, Ben and Will, Tom turned to me. "Don't say a word." He said and walked out leaving me to follow.

The dinner was horrible! Emily had to go home half way through dinner so that left Tom and I at one end of the table because Tom's brothers were sitting at the other end with the adults inbetween so they didn't wind Tom up. Then the mums and Tom started to get drunk, after about half an hour they were REALLY drunk and I swear Tom was getting closer and closer to me and I was getting really flustered! By 11pm we had finished dinner and ready to go home. I was a tiny bit drunk but I didn't want to drive so we ordered a taxi. I had to help Tom out of the resturant and if there were any press taking photos then we were going to get killed tomorrow because he had his arms wrapped around me and he kept kissing my neck, which made me tingle inside and I liked it.
After helping Tom get into the taxi, we sat down and he rested his head on my shoulder.

I woke up with a bad headache. I noticed I wasn't in my own bed. In fact as I looked around I realized I wasn't in my own room! No... I was in Tom's room. How did I get in here? All I remember is falling asleep in the taxi with Tom snuggled up to me. Once I got dressed I wondered downstairs into the kitchen where Tom was making breakfast. "Morning." I smiled. "Morning Madz, you might want to look at the newspaper on the table." I followed his advice and wasn't suprised when I saw the front page covered in pictures of Tom and I last night with questions like: 'Are Maddy & Tom back together?' 'How will Ailis feel about the father of her child getting very close to his ex?'
I was wondering if Ailis had found out but I didn't have long to wait because the front door banged and Ailis came storming in with a newspaper in her hand. "What the hell is this?" she shouted. Tom and I looked at each other before explaining what happened.
