Rest your head, let me stroke your hair.
The worst has already past.
Close your eyes, take a deep slow breath.
Let the dice fall where they were cast.
Ease your mind, let your worries melt.
Let me carry some of your load.
We'll get by, things will brighten up
Just a little bit down the road.
When you've had time to decompress
And the din of the world recedes,
Then we'll rejoin the madding crush,
Get back to our dutiful deeds.
Til then, relax your worried brow,
Leave the outside world outside.
Let's just lay here a short time more
Take it quietly, you and I.
