A Wake Up Call

I am the supermarket car washer in the winter
The leaf raker in the autumn
The lemonade stand on a hot summers day
The lawn mower as the spring life comes out to play

I am a result of no education
I am a bi product of opportunity
I bear the brunt of this thing, "inflation"
I am the corroded, unwanted side of society

I am the window cleaner
Asylum seeker
I wait tables
And dream of fables

I lost my limb in the war
Witnessed my family being tore
I cannot afford clothing
And yet at my image you are loathing

You can't relate to me
You don't understand me
You pre-judge me
Please don't hurt
me.

I am the disease
I am the famine
I am the horrors we ignore
But no longer
