Break The Rules! Break The Mould!

I've learnt a lot this year, about myself and life. But there's one thing that really stood out to me about college and academic studies. I've learnt that education goes beyond the walls of academia. What I mean by this is that academia is governed by rules; what you should do, how you should change and mould yourself in to what is "correct". But I ask this: what is correct? Why should I re-think a piece of writing wherein I have instilled my emotion and passion?

This boils down to one of life's biggest philosophical questions: What is right, and what is wrong?

Interesting... ^.^ I think you can answer it for yourself, though. I think, truly, deep in our hearts, we all know what is right and what is wrong. We just choose to ignore it.

@blingey123 Having an idea of right and wrong within you and listening to it is having faith, I suppose. But what if what we deem as right and wrong isn't actually truthful at all? Of course, everyone can distinguish between what is right and wrong; such is being morally aware. But what is 'right' and 'wrong'? And do we truly have the answer to that?

@aaroooonnn Well, perhaps it is based on culture. There is a concrete sense of right and wrong depending on the culture. Take Muslims for example. They believe that women should be covered up, and that women should not have the rights enjoyed by men. That, to them, is right. To us (at least some, disregarding those who make daily "kitchen" jokes) Americans, we do not agree with such things. We believe that is wrong. So, perhaps it's not that there is no right or wrong, but, rather, that the terms "right" and "wrong"'s meanings vary so rapidly and so variously that to pin an exact definition on both is futile.
