Disguise

Tell me that I'm something
I'll convince you that I'm not
An orange on the outside
With the inside left to rot

An ever present cover
To disguise the world from truth
Walls on every side
But look up and there's no roof

A piece is always missing
Something you cannot place
There is a shadow lurking
In the roses on my face

You want to place some trust
But there is something in the way
A slightly twisted tone
To the words I have to say

I am the very doubt
Imbedded in your mind
The words on the tip of your tongue
That you will never find
