Title: A Ridiculous Thing Called First Kiss Genre: Romance-fluff 873 words
Time is ticking.
She can feel her heart beat with the same pace as the clock hanging in the wall.
"Let's make a bet, Hyunnie. If the first person that enters that door is a man...You'll give him your first kiss, no matter what he looks like. But if it's a woman, then I'll agree to your condition of me going on a blind-date witho your friend."
She wonders when will the time finally stop ticking?
"Hey, that's not fair! Why would I want to give my first kiss to a stranger? Please not my first kiss. I'm reserving it..." she shyly pleads.
The woman sitting opposite her laughs with amusement.
"Hah! So you're chickening out? That's a shame, my friend. I thought the great Seohyun never backs down?" The woman mocks with purpose.
Seo Juhyun thinks that life is a unfair.
She has too many weakness unlike others.
And the first thing on her list is - she hates being challenged because she would never back down to it.
"I'm not chickening out, Jessica. I just don't think its worth it" she reasons as she eyed the older woman's reaction.
"Fine. I'll tell you a secret that I never told anyone before. My first kiss is from a stranger..." Jessica smiled proudly in which Seohyun found rather unusual.
Who would be proud of having their first kiss with a stranger? she mused.
"Look here, Seohyun-ah. You're probably thinking why would I be proud of kissing a stranger right?" Seohyun's eyes widen in shock. Now she thinks that her unnie is a mind reader.
She nods. "My first kiss is my first love, Hyunnie. And trust me, you would never regret it."
Seohyun thinks hard and eventually surrenders. Its crazy how she finally agreed to a weird bet - but she did - despite her conscience inside is painstakingly killing her.
Jessica smiles mischievously as if she knows something she doesn't . "Deal."
Seohyun's heart is racing at the moment that she could almost feel the nervous trickling on her forehead. She is so close to backing down when the door finally opened.
Its a man, dammit! she cursed under her breath as she stood shakily to get ready.
The man wore a glasses (not the nerdy ones though) - a white shirt inside a black cardigan with matching black skinny jeans - and a guitar strap on his back.
She recognized him at first sight.
Uh - oh! This is trouble! It's Jung Yonghwa.
A senior in her music class has no idea on what's about to happen to him. He stood there like a perfect statue glancing on his phone. He barely notice someone approaching until the corner of his eyes caught someone. And that's when he looked up, surprised.
Surprise to see a familiar junior from his class approaching him with an unknown smile.
Despite the unknown, he gave her smile.
A smile that usually melts people (or so he thinks).
While for Seohyun, every step she took felt like there was a chain hanging onto them. She saw him smile - the kind of smile that usually melts people - but not her - not right now- because she's in the middle of something - something that could (would) change her life, possibly forever.
God, please help me get over this, she prays silently in her head as she puts her head down avoiding his gaze.
"Seohyun-ssi, right?" he spoke first with confidence.
She was surprise to know that he knows her name. "Huh? Yeah! How did you-" she momentarily forgets her whole situation as she flashes a grin to him. "Yonghwa-ssi, right?"
"Yes. But is there something you want to say?"
"Ah - yeah... Err, I know you don't really know me and - um - this is the first time we talked to each other - but uh, I want to um - ask you for a favor - a big one actually." she finally finished after all the paused.
Yonghwa let out a laugh. "It's okay, Seohyun-ssi. Ask away. I'll try my best not to disappoint you."
"Err, are you sure?"
"Yes."
"Uh - okay. Can I...I k - kiss you?"
"Eh?"
"Please don't let me repeat it again, Yonghwa-ssi!" now she felt pathetic and desperate.
"I - you want to kiss me?" Yonghwa asked in disbelief.
Seohyun just nodded dumbly. She didn't know what to say anymore. She just hoped that he would say yes.
"Do you have any particular reason why you want to...to kiss me?"
She nodded. "I'll explain it to you later."
"Okay."
"Okay? I can um kiss you?"
"Yes."
"Wow! Really?"
He nodded. "Yonghwa-ssi, just envision yourself kissing a rock. This will be quick, I promise."
They both closed their eyes as Seohyun visions a field full of white dandelions.
Slowly she leans tiptoeing to touch her lips to his (as of now, she's in lalaland)
Hmm, soft - her mind supplies.
Thousands (maybe even millions) butterflies flutters inside her.
Soon the simple kiss turned into a passionate one. Neither one wants to break away.
After a few seconds that seemed forever, Seohyun broke away, panting (actually both of them were)
The touch still lingering on their lips as Heart beats fastens uncontrollably. And Fireworks exploding in each other's chest.
Loss for words.
Whatever it was that the felt - they felt the same.
Everything was unexpected. Like magic - when they looked on each other's eyes - all they wanted was to stop time - right then.

Again, apology for my weird thinking and hope you got cavities:P
