"How can he be so... perfect? And he doesn't even know it?" Seohyun shrugs breathing heavily through her nostrils. She scans the book in her hands and steals another glance at the boy sitting a few good distance away from her. Unfortunately, she got caught, for the boy suddenly turned to her direction.
She immediately turns her head down, embarrassed of being caught. "Stupid! Why did you look this way?"She mutters to herself panicking, as she started to gather her things from the ground, throwing everything in her bag.
Her eyes suddenly shoots straight up to the owner of the feet in front of her.
"Hi. Uh, Seohyun, right?"
"Eh, what?" Her eyes growing wide every second pass he looks at her. How did he know my name?, was the first question that appeared in her mind.
He laughed, smoothly; according to her. "Oh, you must be wondering why I know your name. You're in my science class. You probably never knew that since you were always paying attention to your, uh, err, never mind that! Sorry! I'm Yonghwa."
Wait! Wasn't she supposed to be the one that he doesn't know? Her eyes was still at its widest. "No. I know, you're in my class, but you never really, uh, talked to me."
He scratched his head, a shy smile playing on his lips. "Uh, yeah... about that, sorry."
"What for?" This surprised both of them. The words rolled out of her mouth so carelessly.
It made him suddenly feel nervous. "Um, for not talking to you...in class."
"Oh. It's okay. You didn't really have to be sorry for that... Then, I'll be going."
"Wait! Uhm, I need help... Can you help me?"
She doesn't hesitate and nods to him, smiling. What he doesnt know is that she is more than grateful that he had stopped her. Or more like because he was nervous around her.
"Let's go?"
"Sure!"
So they walk side by side, both grinning.
"Oh. So this is what it feels like to be close to someone you like", she whispers to herself.
"Did you say something?"
"Nothing!"
She looks up to the sky and silently prays that they can stay like this forever.
