Soul lays empty, think of the past,
Wishing for things not meant to last,
Why can't you move on and focus on what's ahead,
Instead of sitting in misery and despair instead,
Darkness surrounding me filing my soul,
Blocking the growth and repair that is meant to make me whole,
The light outside waiting me to open up the door,
Fear filling my being right down to the core,
Anger with the prolonging solitude,
Invisible bars, constantly I'm glued,
But I see the slight, shimmering ray of hope,
Not much but the tip of a saving rope,
So you'll be pulled near and forget your fear,
As dawn breaks to release your spirit near.
