Poem
I was awakened by the morning breeze,
Right as it was blowing on to me,
Making me shiver in my bed.
I walked to the open door of the balcony,
Feeling more tired than ever.
But, I found myself stepping outside,
Into the cool, breezy spring morning.
It was the crack of dawn.
All I heard was the jogging people's feet hitting the pavement, and the soft chirp of the birds.
I turned to my left and saw it,
The big ball of light.
Right as it rose over the city.
At that moment, everything seemed unimportant.
I was calmed.
I only concentrated on one thing.
I didn't care about the birds or the plane that just flew over me.
All I cared about was the big, glowing sun.
Everything else had faded away,
No excess thoughts or anything else,
All I could see was the sun.
It calmed me and made me feel relaxed,
A state that I'm not often at.
I felt at peace.
Nothing mattered.
There were no cares in the world.
I liked this feeling.
I was calm.
I was relaxed.
The stress of school, drama, and other obstacles weren't there.
And I wished at that moment,
That this would never end.
That I wouldn't have to go back,
To all of the pain that life had to throw at me.
That I could just stand here forever,
and that things would never change,
But, sadly, the moment ended.
No more of that wonderful, calming feeling.
The sun was up, higher in the sky.
I had stood here in one spot for the longest time.
Things started to rush back,
All of the drama and the stress.
The moment was gone.
If I could, I would relive the moment.
Praying, that someday, I could have that special moment once again.
