Talking In Bed

“Ask me anything and I’ll give you an honest answer.” She giggled, rolling over on the bed to face him.
“Anything?”
“Yes.”
“And you’ll tell me the truth?”
“Of course.”
“Fine then...” his eyes lit up and fixed on her own “how do you feel about me?”
She turned her face away; “That’s not fair!”
“Why not?”
“You can’t ask me that!”
“You said anything.”
“I meant other than that.”
“No, tell me.” He was gently insistent
“But that’s not fair!”
“Why not?”
“Because I’m falling in love with you.” She slapped him, turned over and burst into tears. He tried cuddling up to her, she pushed him away. “I want to go home.”
“You can’t, your drunk.”
“But I want to go.”
Things got hazy for a while and suddenly she’d told him to fuck off and he’d rolled over in a huff. That snapped her out of it and she launched herself across him to make him look at her. “Don’t shun me. Please?”
“You told me to fuck off.”
“I didn’t mean it, you know what you asked wasn’t fair.”
“You said anything.”
“Fine then,” She rolled over and sat on his chest, her legs either side of his bare stomach; “how do u feel about me?”
He went silent.
“See, horrible isn’t it?” She teased. “How do you feel about me?”
“I wasn’t going to tell you for a year.”
“Wasn’t going to tell me what for a year?”
His voice softened, he took her hands gently in his, “That I love you, am in love with you and I’m falling more in love with you every day.”
She couldn’t hide the smile, but pulled her hands away and punched him in the chest anyway. “And why weren’t you going to tell me for a year?”
“I didn’t want to be one of those guys.”
“What guys?”
“The sappy guys that fall in love quickly.”
“Tough shit m’dear you ARE one of them.”
“I know, it sucks.”
“So why ask me?”
“Couldn’t help it, I had to know.”
“Coward!” she said and punched him again.
