He held her in his arms,
She breathed in his scent,
He kissed her forehead,
She knew what this meant.
He loved her so dearly,
She loved him too,
He would never let her go.
She would always be true.
He smiled when he caught her,
Gazing at him,
She laughed at him shyly,
Before stroking his chin.
He held her hand in his,
She squeezed it so tightly,
He trailed his fingers down her side,
Ever so lightly.
She whispered "I love you."
His eyes widened in surprise,
This was the first time she'd said this,
And she never told lies.
He kissed her so deeply,
Before raising his head,
"And I love you too,"
He honestly said.
She pulled him in closer,
Taking him in,
He held her closely,
Feeling the warmth of her skin.
They lay there together,
Almost as one,
They anticipated their future,
That had just begun.
