Chicken.

Why you are probably asking; where is the proof? Well obviously I must elaborate:

Species A is direct ancestor of the chicken.

Species B is the chicken.

In all cases A will have come before, and does not use external eggs to reproduce.

In all cases B will have come after, and does use external eggs to reproduce.

Hence if one mother from A one day creates the chicken from a mutated zygote(first cell of first instance of B), because the mother is of species A it does not make eggs, and if you look at a chicken the mother makes the eggs not the baby.
