29 January 2013
Yesterday was the 28th of January or if you happen to be an American it was also the 28th of January.
Today's yesterday's news:
•BBC News reports 'Four held after Brazil club fire'.
Even after the third time of reading the headline I still read it as 'Four dead after Brazil fight club'.
•BBC News also reports 'Iran 'sends monkey into space''.
In the report they mention that Iran have, in the past, also sent worms into space. Meanwhile, the USA are concerned that Iran may be using this as a platform to test their capabilities for a potential nuclear missile launch sometime in the future. Dear USA. You nuked Japan... twice, with an aeroplane. Iran have aeroplanes which I am sure they could strap an A-Bomb on to. Iran are clearly trying to build a zoo in space. Calm down. Give them a job on the International Space Station or something. They clearly have skills.
•BBC News reports 'Bread queues lengthen in Damascus'.
Really. This was front page news. Not one mention of the civil war taking place, you know, actual war stuff. Just a report on the apparent shortage of bread. It's not all bad news, apparently they have an abundance of coffee and milk. Starbucks said it could not confirm at this time if they will be taking advantage of this gap in the market. They would like the civil war to end first so they can be certain who, if they did open a chain, they will not be paying corporation tax to.
•BBC News reports "Algeria pipeline attack kills two".
To be honest I am not certain how I should read that. Is it that just one pipeline was attacked but a second pipeline got caught up in the violence and both died?. Or is it that an Algerian pipeline attacked, not sure where or what it attacked, and it killed two of whatever it was attacking. It's all a bit vague.
•BBC News also reports and asks "Are birds hijacking quantum physics?"
No, but if you really want me to answer:
I am not sure that is even possible. Sure, you could hijack Stephen Hawking, the guy is on wheels so that would be pretty easy, but trying to get his hypothesises out of him would take ages.
