Chickens can not fly. That is a fact.
Once upon a time they could. They soared through the sky like chickens who could fly.
Now some say the chickens lost their ability to fly due to evolution and selective breeding. That lot are incorrect. They failed to take into account one peice of historical fact.
Back in 1782 some French fellas called Joseph Michel and Jacques Etienne experimented on travel by means of hot air balloons. They needed test subjects and so animals were used. One of the first being some chickens. The chickens were selected due their ability of flight. If they fell out of the basket of the ballon they could simply fly back to the surface unharmed. However on one particular flight the hot air ballon became untethered and after drifting aimlessly for about 26 miles it ended up in London. In fact it crashed into a butchers. The chickens unfortunately died a horrible death. That being said, some chickens that were yet to be slaughtered witnessed this tragic event.
The chickens passed on this tale to their young and so at this time they made a conscious effort to make sure that they and their kind did not fly again.
