The Broken Promise (P8)

"Sh-shaving," I blurted, dipping my piece of flour covered chicken into the egg wash.
"On...your arm?" My mom asked.
"Uh...I wasn't paying attention...I um...shaved my wrist instead of my legs..."
"That sounds a little weird," she said softly.
"Yeah," I laughed weakly.
We had some people over for dinner that night, and I had to make extra sure my band aids were hidden.
"Out of sight, out of mind," I told myself.
Boy was I wrong.
