"Hi," goes a whisper,
And Tasha looks up.
Her water, it sloshes
Against the sides of her cup.
"What are you doing?"
She asks with surprise.
The boy has a sparkle
In those pretty brown eyes.
"I thought I'd find you here,"
He says with a smile.
"I've been seeing you
Coming right here for a while.
I work at this café
I have for some time.
You always order
A water with lime."
He babbles and blushes,
And Tasha lets go,
A small, tiny giggle,
At a volume as low,
As she possibly can,
But she knows that he heard.
Then he shuts up.
He does not say a word.
"You...stopped talking,"
She says with a blink.
And the boy's pale cheeks,
They turn bright pink.
"Your laugh," he says,
And stutters a little.
"It's as lovely and cheerful,
As the twang of a fiddle.
As pretty and sweet
As the chirp of a flute."
The way that he babbled,
Well, it is quite cute.
"Th-thank you," she whispers,
And she soon forgets,
The pain that she's feeling,
Yes, our Tasha lets,
This silly, sweet boy
Take away all the pain.
And Tasha did not think,
She could laugh again!
