I was pretty tired from running in the snow.
Paul thoroughly enjoyed messing with me, throwing snow at me and grabbing me and wrestling with me.
I decided to retaliate, wrapping my arms around him and trying to pull him down to the ground like he did to me.
Instead, he whipped around, and wrapped his arm around my waist, tossing me into the snow.
When I tried to get up, he grabbed my shoulders and held me there.
"Sally," he called. "Let's cook her!"
I blinked up at him and he grinned at me.
"Stay down," he murmured, holding me on the ground.
My mouth opened to protest, and then Paul began his game.
"Salt," he announced, sprinkling snow on my head. "Plenty of seasoning."
I tried to get up, but back down I went.
"Come on, Sally!" He yelled. "She's ready."
Sally just stared at Paul with wide eyes. He was knelt in front of me, about ready to take a bite out of me, it seemed.
But instead, I surprised him by lifting myself up.
He sprang onto his legs and I crashed into his back, laughing, trying to knock him down.
He whirled around, and I knew what was coming. But this time, he tumbled after me, us laying on the snow in a jumbled mess.
"Oof," I grunted, from the weight of a six foot one boy on my five foot three frame.
He got up and kneeled next to me, grinning down at me.
But there came Sally from the side, knocking him back down. He and I both got up, and I charged for him again.
His arm swung around me and tossed me back into the snow.
"That's enough from *you*," he grinned, turning away. I stood up, staggering forward.
Sally made a lunge, but suddenly, I felt his long arms curl around me, as Paul pressed me against his chest.
"Not so fast," he chuckled, trying to sound evil and failing miserably.
His grip around me tightened.
"I have a prisoner."
I let out a mix of a whimper and a giggle, wondering what he was going to do.
Sally saw this whole thing unfold and a disbelieving smile came onto her face.
She was looking right at me.
I could tell she knew I loved this.
She was definitely right.
