To play the hosting game, you will need 3 matches, a clock, a pen or pencil and a sheet of paper. You also need to be alone in the house. -Do not play this game. Something very bad could happen-
-Select a room that is small, empty with no windows. The room can vary from a closet, bathroom, or any other room. If you can't find a room without windows, a room with windows will do, but it needs to be blocked. There should also be no light.
1-Turn off all source of noise. This includes phones, TVs, computers, and anything else.
2-It has to be nighttime. Turn off all the lights in the house except in the room you have chosen. The light should be a candle if you have no lightbulb. Leave the pen, paper and clock in the hosting room.
3-Now its time for the game to begin. Go to the place furthest from the hosting room. As make your way to the hosting room, call and stop at every room and say, "I will be ready soon."
4- When you get to the hosting room, take the paper and write: you are invited to a gathering, hosted by -insert name here-. It takes place at -correct time-. Bring your friends. Place the sheet of paper on the middle of the floor.
5-Stand at the door way, facing into the hosting room and say," I am ready. You may come in"
6-Turn off the lights, turn around and walk out. Stand outside the doorway with your back turned to the hosting room.
7-Take out three matches and hold them in your hand. Count loud from one to 10. At 10, strike the first match. If the match lights on the first strike say out loud, "I am glad to see you. Thank you for coming." If the light does not match on the first strike, drop it immediately and go to the next step.
8-Strike the second match. Repeat step 7 with the matches
9-Repeat step 8 and 7 with matches.
If the match does not light on the first strike, that is VERY bad. It means you have uninvited guest. DO NOT turn around! Run immediantly to the nearest light source not in the host room and turn it on. The party is now over.
10- If the third match lit on the first try, stand still and listen. You will hear faint voices or whispering behind you. Do not turn around.
To end the hosting game say, "thank you for coming. Goodbye." then walk to the nearest light source and turn it on. The game is over. The guest are thankfully gone.
Do not look behind you at any point during the game.
