The Spirit Of Flame

I once burned brightly.
I danced across the floor with complete freedom, reaching to touch the skies,
Cackling with glee.
People stood in awe of my magnificence,
Watching my colours changed as I burned hotter.
As I spread, they became frightened.
They have started to push me back.
I was not made to be controlled,
I run with freedom.
I will continue to run until energy is lost.
Then I will die and my spirit will rise from the ashes and join those who came before me in the clouds.

If I Could Choose What My Heart Was Made Of

I'd choose diamonds so no-one could break it. Or gold so it would always be guarded. Maybe balloons, when it's big I'd be generous. Or elastic so I'd never be torn.
