I promise there's more here than how it may look
Torn cover, tattered pages, some wear and some tear
Yes, this book has seen more love than you have breathed air
The binding is loose, the glue started peeling
The creases across it are far beyond healing
Its feel in your hands is soft and worn
The acknowledgments page is completely torn
It may have faded since the day I first took it off the shelf,
Put down my money, and brought it home for myself
But the treasure inside is as new as gold
A jewel within paper that will never grow old.
