This seems to be an opinion of mine that nobody else agrees with, and it's annoying because it's something I feel quite strongly about. I dislike eReaders, like the kindle, they annoy me immensely, and here are some reasons why:
1) It will never compare to actually holding a book. Smelling the fresh pages of a new book, sniffing the mustiness of the old. Watching the pages slowly yellow. Feeling the paper on your skin.
2) Would you rather have a physical library, shelves and shelves of books, all lined up, or a bit of expensive machinery that has your books 'inside' of it? I know what I'd rather have.
3) I love the look of the book covers and spines when they're all lined up together. Seeing the pile of unread books leant against the read.
4) 'My favourite author is going to be at the book store tomorrow! I'm going to get them to sign one of their books on my kindle!!! Oh, wait a second...'
5) The memories, the book that was bought for you as a present from your best friend, the book your had since you were 7, the book you've read at least 20 times but it's still your favourite. Sure, you can buy them all on your eReader, but is it really the same??
I could go on for pages an pages more, but I think you get the picture. I get that the world is trying to 'move with the times', but some things should never be modernised. Nothing will ever compare to having physical books. Ever.

I understand you, I've had the same opinion. But now... I leave country and I have to sell/give away my books(too heavy), and I didn't even read all of them! I could take many books with in a kindle. And environmental are ereaders better, from what material are books?:) And how many books are just standing on the shelves, unread, how many get destroyed each year?
@sark I see your opinion, but I swear down i have only ever thrown away one book, all the rest I don't want get donated to schools or charities, and I have five that are currently unread, I think that's because I'm quite picky of what I buy in the first place!
