Hush child
Mommy will protect
With her many worries
Mommy will infect
Father's lost
We're all alone
What a shame, this pain
To survive on our own
Mommy is paranoid
She'll shelter you well
She'll never ask
And she'll never tell
Mommy will I?
You won't do anything
Mommy do you think I could?
You won't get a chance
Mommy doesn't trust that big bad world
She won't let you out of her sight
You don't have the strength
Mommy will hold on to you tight
She'll keep you safe
She sends you her tears
Mommy is guarded
She sends you her fears
Mommy will inspect your every move
She'll scrutinze your life and control you
Don't you see, she only loves you
She does this for you
You can never grow up, my child
You must stay safe, here with Mommy
And school is no escape
The headmaster will yell
Cruel strikes, you've no freedom to say
They punish you at will
You will obey
You're always an expendable piece in the game
Never anything more
And what about fame?
Is it safe?
Is it an escape?
Again you're disappointed
It's just fake
Outside of the cameras
No comfort is found
You're still alone
Within your home
That felt nice
That sudden prick
It all faded so nicely
For a while you'll forget
Don't hold on
Just let it go
Breathe in, breathe out
It'll fade, smooth and slow
Now you're comfortably numb
This is the escape that you found
A needle, in the haystack of life
Nothing has meaning
And you contemplate it all
They were all
Just another brick in the wall.
