This movie was an amazing example of a film that can have historical facts, humour, strong characters and a deep point and meaning to get across without losing its appeal as entertainment.
The plot is about a woman called Skeater who sees the way black or " Nigro" Maids are being treated and wants to change this, so she gathers a group of black maids and records their shocking stories for a novel on their perspective.
The help is a gripping, tear jerking film which I give a 5 out of 5 and demand you to see...

Is that not a film about colonialist master narrative? It's a rich white woman speaking for black people. That's probably patronizing and racist. Why would a black woman need a white woman to tell her story?
@gregstaddon at first it may seem patronising but really black people couldn't stick up for themselves so I would think she is doing a nice thing, wouldn't you?
@kavs_filmreviews That may have been true a few hundred years ago, but this was written in the 21st century. It's still an example of white people usurping the voices of black people, and presuming to speak for them.
@gregstaddon that is another reason why I love movies like these because we can watch the same movie and see different things you should comment on a few more of my reviews I'd love your opinion
