I was once part of a not so unique club. The kind of club that made you feel special and valued. You could sign up to join this club once in a lifetime. More than twice and you should rethink your membership... But this club - oh what a buzz you got! Other members would notice you in public and you would smile, The confident smile of a women who has secret knowledge. You'd all get together and plan, socialise, make remarks about non-members! It's not that you hated them, you just pitied that they weren't special and in the club. What you loved most of all was the truth of belonging somewhere in this world. Friends envied you, co-workers praised you, your family adored you. And that one person, that beautiful soul of a person...

loved you.

Loved you enough to spend hours debating on what ring.

Loved you so much they organised the proposal to make sure it was perfect.

Loved you so much that they poured their heart and soul in a rush of endearing words.

Loved you so much that marrying you was a step they wanted to take.

Loved you do much that to be without you forever - was a life they could not live.

So yeah, I used to be in that club once.

And maybe I'll restart my membership one day but only under a new contract.
