I wish I could ease your pain.
I wish I could be there for you.
I wish that he hadn't had died
I wish that he had reached out.
I wish you had known what he was thinking.
I wish you could have been his hero.
I wish most of all that you were here with me and it never happened.
But wishes don't come true.
You had no way of knowing what he was thinking.
You couldn't have saved him.
He made his own choices, just as you and I do.
Don't shut me out, don't close yourself off.
He might have been one of your lifelines but you're one of mine.
