Firstly I must say in my defence that I'm not really the sort of person that has long mobile calls in public.
A while back a few days after I had gotten my shiny new mobile I was out and got a call from my friend who really needed to talk, I am not one to turn away a friend if I can help and I had about a 40 min bus ride ahead of me so I settled in for a nice chat. 40 mins later my friend is still chatting as I get off the bus. As I step onto the pavement I feel a bit strange like something's missing and one of my pockets DEFINITELY feel lighter then when I got on the bus. Just as it hits me as to what's missing I turn round, see the bus pulling away and let out a "oh no!!!" "what's wrong?" she said as she could hear the slight panic in my voice. "my new phone!!" I said, "I've left it on the bus!!" she starts to join in the panic, "oh no! Quick go back on the bus and look for it!" "I can't! It's driven away!!" "well run after it and catch it at the next sto...." my friend stops in the middle of her sentence and has a think. "hold on a min if your phone is on the bus what are you speaking to me on?" There is silence then we both burst into fits of laughter.
