On a cold winter day, a young boy was 'cursed' by his drunken father and told to "go outside and repair dog pens." Saddened by the pain of his father's rejection and the discomfort of the bitter cold, he began his work but soon 'shocked' to see the county sheriff making his way toward the pens from a nearby highway. The sheriff's assistance abbreviated the cold task and he departed as quickly as he arrived stating, "I thought you may need a hand."
A simple act of kindness has remained in the heart of the little boy, as now he is an old man with a memory of kindness that has not been forgotten.
