The Real Heroes Of Life

Our country is filled with millions who hold highest regards for attributes like beauty and talent - the premium is always placed upon one's God given assets: Acting, athletics, beauty, writers, authors, film makers, artist and performers of all types.

Yet there are others in this country whose names we will never know and whose faces we'll never see, but who much more so deserve our respect. These are the nameless faceless men and women of great character and integrity - they are all around us: the single dad who singlehandedly raises his children, the grandmother who sacrificed her last dollar to see her grandchild receive a college education, the old man who walks the cold streets of winter to pass out blankets to the homeless. You know the type, but how would you measure these men and women of great character if given a choice of meeting and spending time with a well known movie star or athlete?

Most of us, if we were honest, would take the 'star' simply because we are more enamored by talent and name recognition than character.

An old man once told me, "While I admire beauty and talent, I reserve my heart felt respect for those with character!" Individuals with character are real heroes, as their courage to continue being who they are is not motivated to create an image, but simply doing the right thing over and over until their life is over - these are real heroes and we should, at the very least, let them know how deeply we respect what they do in life.

Lived enough of life to know what matters, and still young enough to enjoy it to the fullest - it's not what we do in the best of times that matters; but rather how we 'handle it' in when our world has been turned upside down.

Judgements

More and more people are getting hurt because of other people. People judge too harshly when they should realise they only know a persons appearance and name not the story behind either one of them.

Tomorrow.

Selflessness is rare. Our world is tarnished, blackened by greed and envy. Driven to delirium on the quest to conquer.

Labels

People strive to find themselves, making it easier to know themselves. But what people don't seem to realize is that labels are destructive.

Look Into My Thoughts

I no longer understand Why others do what they do Why do you have to hurt. Why not try and heal. Why can't we get along.
