**FAMILY**?

Born into a family
That didn't seem to care,
Being brought up when young, didn't seem fair.

A happy young boy with a friend or two, not realising what the world could do.

Parents that drank, that I could not thank. A boy that could play football and had had skills, did not give his parents many thrills.

Seasons came, seasons gone, still alone with the game I loved.

Years go by, your dream has gone, you had your chance now it's gone.

Now my mom has gone and my dad's still here, wanting to make up for yesteryear.

Now he's sixty he's sincere, telling me story's of "his" yesteryear, stoke, wolves beating down his door, "sign this contract" you'll be poor no more!

"no, no" he replies, I like telling my wife lies, about the whores with which he lies, being praised by my football pals, drinking ales by the pails.

Now I'm forty with a life and many tales, wishing that life had changed, but I met a wife that gives me life.

But still stand at "St James park" thinking what life could of been like?
