YOU glued broken wings.. and taught them to fly,
Pulled the pieces of my heart back together and..
straightened out the circles I went around in.

YOU put the sparkle** back in my eyes, the bounce in my step and stretched the smile from ear to ear once more.
YOU stood me up when I laid down, pushed me forward as I moved back and never let me forget that YOU was there in my shadow through thick and thin. The good and the bad.

YOU put the giggles back inside and wiped the tears away.
YOU said I can when I insisted I couldn’t, told me yes even though I told myself no.
YOU loved me when no one else could and even more when everyone did.

YOU are the piece that completes the puzzle, the sunshine on rainy days, the smile that makes it through the tears and the kiss that eases the pain.
YOU are the key to the door and the only to my everything.
YOU make me feel how people do when it pours at the end of a picnic or the raindrops that trickle down my face when YOU hold me.

YOU let the light shine on me.. But I am who I am because of YOU. Your face and name are engraved in my heart.. Even though now it truly belongs to YOU.
