Well I've had a great time back home in Scotland, catching up with friends from round the globe and my adoptive families. Wonder when we'll all see each other together again?
I say home, but Scotland's probably my spiritual home, not real home as that is where the heart is. But I do get a funny feeling when I start to see proper snow capped hills and tall tall trees. I even go a bit Lorraine Kelly when I pass that "welcome to Scotland" sign.
Erin and I have had a great adventure but driving back home in one go yesterday afternoon was not an option so I stayed in Last of the Summer Wine country with the inlaws. Erin is definately Granddads little princess!
So I'm now on part two of my journey southbound, holed up in a service station, with the sloooooooewwwest Costa Fortune ever. I mean how long does it actually take to make a latte? And they keep calling me Babs... but that's not my name!
The weather outside is certainly not delightful, more frightful. If I make it home not stuck behind an accident it will be a miracle. The surface water and spray on the motorway is horrific. Several aqua planes already today. And... there are nutters out there with no lights on- hence if I make it home its a miracle. Wish me luck!
So I've finished my coffee, Erin's had lunch, charmed the old dears sitting next to us- maybe they're called Babs? I'd love another coffee but I fear I may be collecting my pension by the time it's ready!
The end of the year is nigh and for me its been a wonderful year. One of those reasons was discovering this app back in May or June. You all kept me company through my maternity leave, provided, fun, laughter, tears and inspiration. Thank you all. I wish I could Auld Lang Syne with you at the bells with a wee whisky or brandy. But alas I can't ...So I'm signing off for the day. I will try and catch up in all your Opusses over the week.
I wish all you wonderful Opussians a very 'Merry' Hogmanay and mucho inspiration and creativity for 2013!!!
