Eddies Weekly Opuss Challenge #11

Good morning all!
Some great news reports last week. You'll be pleased to know Father Christmas has returned safe and well to the North Pole.

This week I would like you to put your music device of choice (iPod, mp3 etc) on shuffle and write a piece of 'FLASH FICTION' starting with the opening line of the FIRST song that plays.

If your unsure of the elements of flash fiction have a look online.

I look forward to reading all your creative pieces.

Remember its not a competition, just for fun, trying something different.

Oh good....my song was Green Day "know your enemy" lol

@patdolan83 great. Look forward to reading it. πŸ‘

Should be interesting as I've never even attempted nor read a piece of flash fiction 😳

@patdolan83 well done for trying. That's what the challenges are all about. πŸ‘πŸ˜˜

@eddie12309 Is there a word limit?

@Klaire no. Flash fiction is usually around 100 -150 words. πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

@eddie12309 Ok just checking. Thanks! I've heard it can be up to 1000 or max. of 300 words.

@Klaire most ones I've read are max 500 words but I suppose it depends on how your story goes.

@eddie12309 Ok, I'm trying to size it down and I have 160 words but if I delete anymore, it won't make sense.

Sound fun, I understand many people don't think about this little thing, but it makes big difference... I would like to join and do this but I cannot do this way for I cannot hear, I am deaf.. So how do you suggest us to do the way instead of listening for the first line..

@insomnium the challenges I set are open to anyone who wants to try them out. This was the first one that required a song.

@insomnium are you profoundly deaf? Can you still feel the music like one of my friends children? Perhaps if you do have a favourite piece of music you use the song title instead.

@insomnium thanks for raising this point. 😊 Its something I never really thought of. 😘

@eddie12309 yes we can feel it, but we cannot hear nor able to understand the singing voice,.. Many wouldn't know the lyrics nor cares for it.. Deaf don't really care about lyrics and music, only to feel and to dance to it.. Few loves the words and understand the power of words would read lyrics.. But not to hear, we usually watch music video with captions which are very rare on YouTube... And no problem, i love to help out ☺ and yes I am profoundly deaf due to progressive hearing loss

You should check out my opuss 'Art of Language' :) there are many I writes relating to visual, silence of sounds

@insomnium thanks that's really interesting about the lyrics. I think I've read one of your peices but I'll have a read of the rest.

Ha @eddie12309 thanks, well take your time,.. Good thing I'm newbies, or I would have over hundreds for you to read ha
