Children are the future,
This planet is in their hands.
Teach them well today,
And they will be the better man.
Our mistakes, they will learn from;
Our achievements they will advance.
Perhaps their conservation and empathy,
Will bequeath us a second chance.
An end to war and poverty,
Racism, put to bed?
Rainforest's resurrected,
Homophobia, done with, dead?
In a world of twenty-four-seven;
Spare a moment to understand and see;
That sparing time for your children,
Should be your number one priority.
Without the time and effort,
Love, patience and care;
The society of the future,
Will be a civilisation in disrepair.
Our children ARE our future;
They hold it in their hands;
Invest in them with your time,
Not the proceeds from your daily demands.
**The gift of time and love,
speaks far more than throw away tangibles.
