The night is upon us
It's All Hallows' Eve
It's the party he's been waiting for
He doesn't expect me to leave
I wait with the others
As the damp fog rolls in
They have no idea of the hell
That awaits in The Carpenters Inn
But who am I to stop them
They are here of their own volition
I see him standing at the uppermost window
Like a ghostly apparition
The doors creak open of the gothic mansion
It's exactly ten o three
I'm last in the expectant queue
I stood here on purpose you see
Vincent Prices' domineering voice
Echoes from the hall
The opening bars to Thriller begin
The guests are in total awe
My painted face is covered
I want it to be a surprise
When he faces my vengeful wrath
There will be no tears in my eyes
The party is in full swing
The guests mingle with the ghosts
They think it is a fantastic parlour trick
But where is our sadistic host?
The lights are dim, the pumpkins burn
He has set the scene well
He has thought of everything
Down to the last detail
They dance to Sympathy for the Devil
While I scan the room
I see the bloodied stains the corner
Despite the dim light and gloom
All the while, he is sitting upstairs
Watching his candle burn out
It's time for the fun to begin
Let them scream and shout
He loads up his gun, for the very last time
And stares at the candles last flame
He smiles as he caresses his scar
And thinks of only one name
He makes his way down the stairs
As the resident ghosts dart away
They hide in the cellars
As Sir Allen Edgar makes his way
The haunting voices of Oh Fortuna resounds
As he stares down at his gun
'Go on' his demon whispers
'Now go, let's have some fun'
He crosses over to the great room
He feeds of the adrenaline in the air
He raises the gun to the first head
Shoots... others are unaware
Purposefully he moves to the next
Shoots... She drops suddenly to the floor
King has now spotted him
And makes his way over to the door
Shoots..... Another falls lifeless
As the horror begins to unfold
King now stands behind him
His beating heart ice cold
He removes the polished knife from his pocket
And stabs him violently in the back
Sir Allen turns to face him
Stab.... another attack
The horrifying music still blares out
As panic and hysteria set in
The others look for a way out
Through the strings of the violin
The ghosts let them out
Their screams can be heard for miles
Only one guest remains
Standing above the host with a smile
"Do you like my face?
I painted it just for you.
I want you to know what you will look like
When I am finished carving you too."
He tried to reach for his gun
But the pain seared deep in his side
"Did you think you could kill me too?
Do you think it's for you to decide?"
King looked down at the knife
And thought of his lovers beautiful face
It only took one searing cut
To seal Sir Allen Edgar's fate
As his life blood drains from him
His evil demeanour changed
'Thank you...you set me free'
'You know you are the one to blame'
The Carpenters Inn now has a new owner
No longer a black tormented soul
Everyone parties together
To the sound of rock and roll
It even has a happy new ghost
Who came to terms with his fate
But he still looks forward to October 31st
It will always be a special date.
