Chapter 4

When I get home, I look for my mom. I find her in the kitchen yet again.
"Okay honey. I hired a man to mow our lawn and people to fix our gutter. The house will be painted next week and the steps are going to be replaced next month."
"Okay."
"Oh, and our neighbors are coming over for dinner."
"Alrighty."
"So you need to help unpack and clean your room. Also put something nice on."
"I already unpacked my room."
"Okay, well, then can you unpack the family room?"
"Okay."
I run upstairs and grab a blue skirt with flowers on it. I go over to my dresser and grab out a pretty blue blouse from the drawer. I lay that out and then go downstairs and help unpack. Justin then comes downstairs. He comes up and helps me unpack.
"I hate this place," he mutters under his breath.
"Why?"
"It's small and there is like no girls."
I roll my eyes. Justin is the type of guy that goes out with every girl. He's good looking but he's a jerk. He can't even keep a girlfriend for three months.
After we finish unpacking, we have to go get dressed. I run up to my room and shut the door. I get dressed into my outfit and then put on some makeup. I only put on mascara and lipgloss. I then squirt some perfume on and then I'm almost ready. I check the time. It's 6:23. I look in my mirror. I look pretty good. I brush my hair out and then put it into a fishtail. I also put on some jewelry. I slip on a few brackets, a ring, and some earrings.
I walk downstairs. Josh and his family are sitting in our
Justin is already downstairs flirting with his older sister. I go down and sit next to Josh.
"Hey," I say quietly.
"Hi," he says back.
We sit there in silence. It's kinda awkward. My mom finally calls for dinner. That saved me.
