In the darkness the only thing that can break the chain of monotoness black around you at night in the streets are the lights. Especially in the winter when the harsh blinding days are shorter and the beautiful blue tinted nights are long and frostbitten. But imagine if those lights were not there or were turned off, how dark would it be?
And would the monsters come out to play with me?

Darkness enveloped her, it took over everything. The light, her breath, every last hope and dream, were being sucked away.
