You have changed my life in so many ways.
Laughter returned,
So long a distant dream.
A glimpse of life with meaning starts to be seen.
Yet still darkness returns, in dark chasms to fall.
Plummeting downwards,
A bottomless place,
No ceiling, no walls.
The darkness is thick, no glimmer of light
Will penetrate through the blackness of night.
Yet as I look,
A faint light I see,
The shining of eyes searching for me
And there, in the darkness,
I look straight in those eyes.
The love there I see sends forth a light
And penetrates the dark of the night.
Now I can see,
As the light breaks through,
A hand stretching forth, reaching down for me.
Still with eye fixed to eye,
So as not to be lost,
I stretch out my own to reach out and hold.
Suddenly there,
In the darkest night.
Held in that place, no further to fall.
Love lights the place, where there I am held,
Not a bottomless place,
But with ceiling and walls.
No longer afraid, in love not alone.
