Strange Happenings

It had been almost a year since Darren had last seen it. In August 2011, Darren had decided that the only way to escape was to leave his home and start his life again somewhere else. He had simply walked away leaving everything behind. His furniture, stereo, TV, bedding, plates, in fact anything that he couldn't fit inside his pockets. He simply wasn't prepared to take a chance that 'it' lived inside one of his possessions.

So here he was, a year later, new town, new house and job and a new life. The past year had gone by without incident. At first, he was on edge. The slightest noise made him very alert, each time wind or rain hit his window, his heart would quicken but this eventually subsided into a peaceful and normal life. That was until today.

It was July 25, 2012. Darren woke up at 6am and noticed it was going to be a beautiful sunny day. He lay in bed gazing at the clear blue sky out of his window when the sky suddenly disappeared from his view.

It wasn't so much a disappearance but more a blockage. Something very big, very dark and very much alive was covering Darren's entire window. His room was pitch black because of it and Darren knew it had found him.

The smell hit him at the same time, it was like the stench of decomposing bodies lying in a hot sun. He wanted to be sick. How had it found him? why had it even tried? Darren's heart beat faster and faster as he realised it was blocking his window from the inside, it was right there in the room with him.....
