Darren's mum sat with trembling hands, her tea spilling into to flowery saucer as she tried desperately to steady herself. She took a deep breath, looked at Darren and started to tell him why he was a dominant factor in all of the ongoing Strange Happenings.
"Turn the radio on Darren, it can hear us!". Darren looked at his mother in shock, he walked up to the radio and turned it on. "turn it up" she pleaded. Darren turned the volume until his mother nodded at him. Darren sat down and his mother leaned over closer to him. The music was blared so loud, Darren struggled to catch all of her words.
"35 years ago" she started, " your father and I went to Saudi Arabia on holiday. Your father and I took a trip into the desert with a local guide who promised to show us an ancient temple".
"as soon as we arrived" she continued, "the guide fell into a hole and died of his injuries. We didn't know what to do. We tried to climb down the hole but it was much to dangerous. So, we decided to drive back to the city and bring some help".
"as we started to drive away, a large black shape came up from the hole. We both looked at it Darren and it was horrible. It was like dark smoke but it had a shape to it and eyes, ohhh, such horrible eyes".
Darren sat there listening intently. His mother continued. "your father and I heard the most horrible gurgling sound coming out of the shape, it was trying to speak to us. Both your dad and I saw things Darren, we saw the future, we saw you and"
Neither Darren or his mother heard the brick smash through the kitchen window.
