Strange Happenings - Chapter 2

It hit him like a rock, there was nothing he could do, nowhere he could run, no one to hear him if he screamed. He knew it and so did the entity inside his room. It grew cold now, so much that despite the darkness, Darren could see his own breath as if he was outside in an icy frost.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?" he yelled. "WHAT DO YOU WANT?"

The sound in response was almost more than Darren could take. It was horrible. A mixture of gurgling liquid and slow deep moaning. It was difficult to understand anything but Darren caught at least three words that seemed to be coming from his own exhaled breath. "FORTUNE, PRINCE & DEATH".

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN, WHAT ARE YOU SAYING" Darren screamed. "I DON'T UNDERSTAND, WHAT DO YOU WANT"

There was a very low hissing sound coming from the bottom of the bed. Darren thought that it was definitely a snake, he waited for the movement and the subsequent strike but it didn't come. Instead the hissing got louder and louder until a deathly scream, from what seemed like hell itself, overtook all of Darren's senses. The smell was gone, the cold disappeared and slowly the darkness dispersed and the sun slowly crept back into the room.
